Leopold Eschke's electric motor doesn't work because the copper wire he used in the motor is too thin, causing it to overheat and melt. Additionally, the battery he used to power the motor is not strong enough to provide the necessary current to make the motor run. Finally, the design of the motor may not be efficient or effective in converting electrical energy into mechanical energy, leading to its failure to work properly. **
